Papiss Cisse plays down rumours of Newcastle United exit

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse plays down transfer rumours by claiming that he does not have another team "to leave to".

Papiss Cisse has rejected suggestions that he could leave Newcastle United this summer by revealing that there are no other clubs interested in him.

The Senegalese international has been linked to Turkish outfits Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor, as well as clubs in China and the Middle East.

However, after scoring his first goal of the season in the Magpies' 2-2 draw with Southampton on Sunday, Cisse has suggested that he will remain at St James' Park for the foreseeable future.

"I have a contract at Newcastle United," Cisse told the Chronicle. "I need to be professional every time I play. I don't have a team to leave to."

The 30-year-old joined Newcastle back in 2012.
