Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is currently the best striker in the world.
The 29-year-old scored for the ninth game in a row across all competitions in Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid and has netted remarkable solo strikes against Manchester City and Watford in recent weeks.
Jurgen Klopp recently backed Salah to win the Ballon d'Or amid his magnificent form, and Wenger has echoed his counterpart's comments over the Egypt international.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Wenger said: 'He's top, top class and he's certainly the best striker at the moment in the world because he scores goals that nobody else can score.
"You have to play street football to dribble past people like that in a short space. He's full of confidence and he's creative. Overall, I believe as well that he is very intelligent because the sign of players that always improve is the intelligence."
Salah now boasts 14 goals and four assists from 11 appearances in all competitions this term but is yet to extend his Anfield contract beyond the summer of 2023.
