Arsene Wenger worried by "massive setback"

Arsene Wenger admits that their 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium is a "massive setback" in their ambitions to win a first Premier League title since 2004.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that the 1-0 defeat at Stoke City this afternoon comes as a "massive setback" to their Premier League championship ambitions.

Jonathan Walters scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to leave the Gunners four points adrift of Chelsea at the top of the table.

Wenger has conceded that the loss was a damaging blow to their hopes of a first title since 2004, but did question the decision to award the Potters a spot kick for handball against Laurent Koscielny.

"It's a big worry to lose a game like that, it was a massive setback," he told reporters.

"Nobody knows what handball is anymore. It might have hit his hand, but I have seen the ball hit a player's hand maybe 10 times and penalties have not been given. It is unclear."

Arsenal have only won once in six Premier League visits to the Britannia Stadium.
