Aston Villa captain Gabriel Agbonlahor has heaped praise upon strike partner Christian Benteke.

Benteke scored the match-winning goal as Villa overcame Reading on Tuesday night.

He joined the Midlands club from Genk for a transfer fee of £7m in August and Agbonlahor believes that the Belgian has already become a fans' favourite.

"You can tell by the fans' reaction how much they've taken to him," Agbonlahor told Sky Sports News.

"He's still only 21 but he's doing great for us. He's helped us with the goal tonight and all credit to him."

Benteke has scored five goals in 13 appearances for Villa.
