Burnley 'eye Craig Davies loan' from Bolton Wanderers

Championship leaders Burnley target Bolton Wanderers' Craig Davies as a loan signing to provide back-up for the free-scoring duo of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes.

Championship leaders Burnley have reportedly identified Craig Davies as a possible loan target to bolster their frontline.

Bolton Wanderers striker Davies is out of favour at the Reebok Stadium and would be brought in as cover for the Clarets' free-scoring front duo of Sam Vokes and Danny Ings, who have a combined 19 goals in 16 league games this season.

According to Sports Direct News, Burnley boss Sean Dyche wants to bring Davies, 27, on loan before Thursday's emergency deadline.

The potential deal between the two Lancashire clubs is said to hinge on whether Bolton can sign Joe Mason on loan from Premier League side Cardiff City.
