Saturday's League Two predictions including Swindon Town vs. Crewe Alexandra

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League Two fixtures, including Swindon Town vs. Crewe Alexandra.

Grimsby Town vs. Notts County (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Grimsby Town and Notts County square off on Saturday afternoon looking to remain in direct contention for the automatic promotion places.

Despite sitting in ninth and sixth position in the League Two table respectively, there is just a five-point gap between the former and second place.

We say: Grimsby Town 1-2 Notts County

Despite just three points separating these two teams, they are on contrasting runs of form. With that in mind, we are backing the visitors to battle their way to an important victory at Blundell Park, potentially through a fast start to the contest.

Walsall vs. Tranmere (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Walsall play host to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon looking to strengthen their position at the top of the League Two table.

Meanwhile, Rovers make the trip to the West Midlands sitting just five points clear of the relegation zone.

We say: Walsall 2-0 Tranmere Rovers

With Tranmere having posted a crucial victory last time out, there will be extra belief ahead of taking on the toughest challenge in the division. Nevertheless, we still expect Walsall to come through with the three points and to keep a clean sheet in the process.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Cheltenham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

AFC Wimbledon play host to Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that will strengthen their bid for a top-two spot in the League Two table.

At a time when the home side occupy fifth position in the standings, Cheltenham are down in 13th spot, now cut adrift from the playoff places.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Cheltenham Town

With Cheltenham well-rested after their break from action, they may be better prepared for this contest. Nevertheless, the Dons are the favourites to prevail from this contest for a reason, leading us to predict a hard-fought success by the odd goal in three.

Carlisle vs. MK Dons (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Carlisle United square off against MK Dons on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that would move them off the bottom of the League Two table.

Meanwhile, MK Dons make the long trip North requiring a victory to remain within touching distance of the playoff positions.

We say: Carlisle United 1-2 MK Dons

Given MK Dons' poor run of form, Carlisle will be optimistic of earning at least a share of the spoils. However, we feel that the visitors will do enough to scrape maximum points here, even if it is in a war of attrition.

Gillingham vs. Fleetwood (Saturday, 3.00pm)

As part of Saturday's League Two action, John Coleman is set to take charge of his first game as Gillingham boss when they host Fleetwood Town at Priestfield Stadium.

Both sides come into the clash with fresh ideas in the dugout and are looking to bounce back from losses, though the hosts have lost three consecutive games and are in particularly poor form.

We say: Gillingham 0-1 Fleetwood Town

Both teams are looking to kickstart the second part of their season by earning their first win under their new manager, so expect Saturday's game to be a close-fought contest.

However, despite the potential 'new manager bounce' that Gillingham might experience, the fact that they have not scored for three consecutive games makes it difficult to envision them taking anything from this weekend's clash.

Port Vale vs. Barrow (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Port Vale play host to Barrow on Saturday afternoon sitting just one point adrift of second position in the League Two table.

Meanwhile, the sustained poor form of the visitors has led to them dropping down to the mid-table spots, 12 points adrift of the playoffs.

We say: Port Vale 1-1 Barrow

On the back of edging out Doncaster last time out, Port Vale are on a high, a rarity after recent matches. However, we feel that they may struggle to get over the line here, leading us to back a low-scoring draw with a Barrow outfit who ideally require three points.

Swindon vs. Crewe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides at opposite ends of the League Two standings will meet this weekend when Swindon Town play host to Crewe Alexandra at the Nigel Eady County Ground on Saturday.

The hosts will come into this match with 24 points and as the first side above the dotted line, while the visitors are on 42 points and lead the chasing pack behind Walsall.

We say: Swindon Town 1-1 Crewe Alexandra

While Crewe Alexandra enter this match with a much better record this season, Swindon Town have been very impressive at home since the arrival of Ian Holloway, and we feel that they will be able to take a share of the spoils from this one.
