Glen Johnson hails Anfield atmosphere

Glen Johnson believes that teams fear facing Liverpool at Anfield more now than they did three years ago.

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has claimed that teams fear coming to Anfield more now than they did in the past.

The Reds picked up their 14th home win of the season on Sunday as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 to move to the top of the Premier League table.

Johnson believes that Liverpool's form in front of their own fans has contributed hugely to their title bid this season as they look to be crowned champions of England for the first time since 1990.

"At the moment, teams definitely can't be looking forward to coming to Anfield to play," the full-back told the club's official website.

"Three years ago, people were not so worried. But I think we're getting it back to the name and the place that people see Anfield as.

"It's what we've been doing all season. We work hard and we try to put the opposition under pressure right from the beginning."

Liverpool continue their Premier League title challenge on Saturday when they make the trip to West Ham United.
