Pepe Reina wants Spain return

Pepe Reina says that he wants to return to Spain, but concedes that it may be difficult to find a big club in need of a goalkeeper.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has admitted that he would like to play in La Liga again before he retires.

The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at Napoli, but he has returned to the Reds and is currently on their pre-season tour of America.

Reina previously played for Villarreal in the Spanish top flight before moving to Liverpool in 2005, and he has revealed that he is keen on a return to his homeland.

"All the big Spanish teams are covered in my role," BBC Sport quotes Reina as saying.

"I see it as very difficult to return to Spain. It's normal though that over the years you want to return to where you came from, so we'll see."

Reina helped Napoli to victory in the Coppa Italia during his spell on loan at the club last season.
