Manchester City want to sign Columbus Crew goalkeeper Zack Steffen as their number two, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Columbus Crew goalkeeper Zack Steffen.

City will be without the services of Claudio Bravo for the remainder of the season, with the Chilean recovering from a ruptured Achilles.

Arijanet Muric is currently the back-up to Ederson at the Etihad Stadium, but it is understood that City boss Pep Guardiola wants to bring another goalkeeper to the club.

According to The Sun, City are eyeing a £5m move for Columbus Crew stopper Steffen, who has been scouted on a number of occasions by the Premier League champions.

The 23-year-old, who is a six-time USA international, started his professional career with German club Freiburg before returning to the United States.

Steffen has kept 10 clean sheets in his last 29 MLS appearances for Columbus Crew.
