Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that Michael Carrick could make his return from injury after the international break.
Carrick is yet to play this season after picking up an ankle injury in the summer, but Van Gaal's latest comments suggest that the midfielder could be available for selection in the near future.
"I think, after the international break, he can maybe play some minutes but we have to wait and see," the Dutchman told members of the media.
"He is doing well, better than we had expected."
United return to action against West Bromwich Albion on October 20.
