Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres has further hinted that he would like to become a future player of Manchester United.
Gyokeres had already been in free-scoring form for the Portuguese giants before Ruben Amorim left Estadio Jose Alvalade for Old Trafford.
With Amorim now looking to make improvements to his United squad, the Sweden international is continuing to be heavily linked with an eventual switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
Although speculation is rife that United could entertain making an approach in January, any deal is more likely to be negotiated in the summer.
Nevertheless, speaking in an interview with UEFA, the 26-year-old has suggested that he would like to replicate the goals ratio of United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

"They went the extra mile"
Gyokeres revealed that he would like to emulate the likes of Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - a fellow United player - before the end of his playing days.
He said: "The players I looked up to were Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"It's about how they performed on the pitch, they went the extra mile which impressed me. I wanted to do similar things on the pitch."
While Ronaldo's most famous and successful stint came at Real Madrid, the Portuguese superstar still contributed 145 goals and 64 assists from 346 appearances for United.
During his current stint at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, the 39-year-old has chipped in with 74 goals and 18 assists from 83 outings.

How has Gyokeres fared without Amorim?
Gyokeres has enjoyed another outstanding campaign at Sporting courtesy of scoring 22 goals and supplying two assists from his 18 appearances in the Champions League.
However, Sporting have been in dismal form since Amorim's exit, losing to each of Arsenal, Santa Clara and Moreirense.
Just one goal has been contributed by Gyokeres, that being an early penalty during the latter fixture before the shock turnaround from the seventh-placed side.
