Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has reiterated that the club are not lining up a move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.
Reports emerged earlier this month claiming that the Dutchman was on the brink of joining the Serie A side, although Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito was quick to play down the links.
Speculation first emerged after Van Persie was recently spotted in Rome, but Tare has now clarified the situation by stating that the player's asking price is simply out of reach.
"I can only say that I respect Van Persie as a striker, but unfortunately he is outside of our parameters," he told Lazio Style Radio. "There was never any meeting."
Tare also confirmed that Miroslav Klose will remain in place at the Stadio Olimpico beyond this summer.
