Manchester United 'considering fresh Sean Longstaff bid'

Manchester United consider reigniting their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly considering reigniting their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff during this month's transfer window.

The Red Devils were strongly linked with the 22-year-old ahead of the 2019-20 campaign but were not prepared to meet Newcastle's £50m valuation.

After Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Arsenal, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted that his club would make signings this month having lost both Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba through injury.

According to the Evening Standard, Solskjaer and first-team coach Michael Carrick are huge admirers of Longstaff, and the 20-time English champions could launch a bid before the end of the month.

The Englishman has contributed one assist in 14 Premier League appearances for the Magpies this season.

United will be without McTominay for at least two months with a knee injury while Pogba is facing surgery on a troublesome ankle problem.
