Fawaz Al-Hasawi planning to spend more at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi insists that he will continue to strengthen the team every year.

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi has insisted that he is planning to strengthen the club's squad at every opportunity.

Al-Hasawi has injected a lot of money into the club since his arrival in 2012, and he has told supporters that he has no desire to stop the spending.

"I will make Forest stronger and stronger every year that I am here," Al-Hasawi told the Nottingham Post. "Every year I will make the side strong, every year I will work to push Forest.

"What we did this summer is sell two good players in [Jamaal] Lascelles and [Karl] Darlow. Some people thought that we had just taken the money.

"But we did not. We took the money so that we could buy more players for the club, so that we could make us stronger. We kept Darlow and Lascelles for the season and, with that money from Newcastle, we invested in the team."

Forest currently occupy top spot in the Championship.
