West Ham United have reportedly considered offering Joey Barton a way out of Queens Park Rangers.
The controversial midfielder has landed in hot water at QPR after getting hit with a 12-match ban for two acts of violent conduct after he was shown red during the R's last game of the season against Manchester City.
Reports have claimed that the former Championship club are keen to offload their captain this summer, despite completing just one season at Loftus Road.
It is believed that Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is willing to sign the 29-year-old as they prepare to compete in the top flight following promotion to the Premier League, according to the Daily Star.
QPR announced on Friday that they will not appeal Barton's lengthy ban.
