Zinedine Zidane "happy" with Real Madrid display

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane says that he was "happy" with his team's attacking display in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw in the Champions League.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has paid tribute to his players following Tuesday's 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw in the Champions League.

The Spanish giants struggled to find their top form for long spells of the Group F clash, but emerged comfortable winners after scoring three times in the opening 45 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo was not on the scoresheet for Los Blancos, but Zidane has insisted that he was pleased with the Portuguese, who provided two assists at the Bernabeu.

"We had a lot of chances, scored five and I'm happy with our offensive play. We played attacking. We can always improve, we played with a bit of risk but the good thing is that going forward we created lots of chances," Zidane told UEFA.com.

"The important thing today was to win and score. Everyone wants us to score five, six, seven but you have to work hard and sometimes you don't always do it. I have to make decisions with the forwards up top. We have a lot of games and all our players will get chances.

"But I'm happy with the three who started today and what they are doing. People always want Cristiano Ronaldo to score a hat-trick but he also created a lot of chances for teammates."

Real Madrid have collected seven points from their three Group F matches this season.
