Saturday's League One predictions including Rotherham United vs. Bolton Wanderers

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Rotherham United vs. Bolton Wanderers.

Two teams with opposing aims in League One are set to come together on Saturday afternoon when relegation-threatened Rotherham United host playoff-hopeful Bolton Wanderers at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The hosts are 16th in the standings with 28 points from 23 games, while the visitors are 10th in the league table with 37 points from their first 23 outings.

We say: Rotherham United 1-2 Bolton Wanderers

The hosts may be enjoying an improved run of form in recent weeks, but Bolton's comeback win last time out would have given them a major boost heading into this one, leading us to believe the visitors will secure the win.

Blackpool vs. Cambridge (Saturday, 3.00pm)

As part of this weekend's League One action, Blackpool are set to host relegation-threatened Cambridge United at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

Both sides come into the game looking for their first win of 2025, though the Seasiders are unbeaten this year so far while the U's have lost both of their games in January.

We say: Blackpool 1-0 Cambridge United

Both sides are without a win in their last five games, though Blackpool have drawn their last three while Cambridge have lost theirs.

This weekend, the U's will be desperate to avoid being cut adrift in the relegation zone, but their blunt offence and weak defence makes it difficult to envision Monk's side taking anything from Saturday's clash.

Northampton vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

On Saturday, Northampton Town are set to host an in-form, promotion-chasing Barnsley at Sixfields Stadium in League One.

Both sides come into the clash unbeaten in 2025 so far, though the visitors have won four in a row ahead of this weekend.

We say: Northampton Town 1-3 Barnsley

Both sides are on unbeaten runs at the moment, though Barnsley have faced tougher opposition and won four consecutive matches, while Northampton have merely avoided defeat.

Given the fact that the Tykes have kept just one clean sheet from their last eight matches, the Cobblers could score on Saturday, but it is still hard to picture anything other than a win for Clarke's team in the end.

Shrewsbury vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Shrewsbury Town are set to host high-flying Huddersfield Town at The Croud Meadow as part of Saturday's League One action.

The Shrews lost 1-0 last time out against Leyton Orient, while the Terriers won on the road to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 0-3 Huddersfield Town

Despite Shrewsbury's improved form of late, it is difficult to ignore the gulf in quality between the two sides in Saturday's clash.

Additionally, given Huddersfield's defensive strength, it is hard to see the Shrews scoring - even with a potential change in the backline - and the Terriers can be expected to extend their unbeaten streak and pick up another three points this weekend.

Stevenage vs. Burton Albion (Saturday, 3.00pm)

League One basement side Burton Albion will travel to the Lamex Stadium for Saturday's League One encounter against Stevenage.

The hosts are looking to claim their first win of 2025, while Burton are looking to record a victory for the first time since December 4.

We say: Stevenage 2-1 Burton Albion

Stevenage have won three of their last four matches at the Lamex Stadium, and we think they will make full use of home advantage again to claim a narrow victory over a Burton side that are low on confidence following an eight-game winless run.
