Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen has confirmed that he is poised to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The 25-year-old Belgian defender has been continually linked with a switch to the Premier League, with Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United all reportedly vying for his signature.
Speaking at a news conference ahead of his country's friendly with England at Wembley tomorrow, Vertonghen revealed that a decision has finally been made and that he expects to be moving to White Hart Lane.
He said: "I probably know which team I will be going to, yes. I know where I want to go and I think it is clear to everybody."
Then when asked if that club was Tottenham, he nodded and said: "Yes."
It is believed that the transfer fee for the player could reach £10m after add-ons.
Vertonghen made 31 Eredivisie appearances last season, scoring eight goals.
