Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.

The Germany international played a key role in the heart of the Monchengladbach defence last season - making 31 top-flight appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Chelsea have already been busy in the transfer market with the acquisitions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, and a recent report claimed that the Blues are nearing a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

Now, Kicker reports that Frank Lampard has set his sights on another Germany international, and the Chelsea manager is keen to bring Ginter to Stamford Bridge.

However, even though Ginter's contract with Monchengladbach has just under a year left to run, the report claims that the Bundesliga outfit will still demand a hefty fee for the 26-year-old.

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be monitoring the situation.

Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the development of Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile.

Given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has suggested that the club will not be active during the summer transfer window.

However, according to AS, that has not stopped the La Liga champions from identifying Badiashile as a future signing.

The 19-year-old, who has been dubbed 'the next Raphael Varane', has already made 43 appearances for Monaco in all competitions.

The centre-back is valued in the region of £35m, while the prospect still has four years remaining on his contract.

Nevertheless, Monaco may be willing to cash in on the youngster after failing to qualify for Europe.
