West Ham United to offer return to James Collins?

West Ham United are reportedly considering whether to offer a new one-year deal to James Collins, who they released earlier in the summer.

West Ham United are reportedly considering handing James Collins a new one-year contract.

Collins has spent over a decade with the Hammers across two different spells, but the East London outfit allegedly released the centre-back by email earlier in the summer.

The 35-year-old has recently been training with West Ham having failed to find a new club, and according to The Sun, it could lead to the Welshman being handed another opportunity at the London Stadium.

The report claims that there are calls behind the scenes for Collins to be drafted back into the first-team squad at a time when West Ham have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.

West Ham are also without Winston Reid until the back end of 2018, strengthening the possibility of Collins returning to the club.

The defender has made a total of 214 appearances for the top-flight outfit.
