Caroline Wozniacki: Maria Sharapova "played too well"

Caroline Wozniacki admits that Maria Sharapova played better than her in the final of the BNP Paribas Open on Sunday.

Caroline Wozniacki has admitted that Maria Sharapova deservedly won the BNP Paribas Open final at Indian Wells on Sunday.

The Dane, who won the title two years ago, lost the contest 6-2 6-2.

"She was putting pressure on me from the start," Wozniacki told reporters. "She was serving very well.

"I felt like everything that she wanted to do today was going in. She was making very few errors, and if she did, then it was at times where it didn't really matter. I have to say she just played too well today."

The win saw Sharapova win the tournament for the second time.
