Arsenal injury, suspension list and return dates for Real Madrid: Riccardo Calafiori, Raheem Sterling

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Real Madrid.

Arguably the biggest game of the Mikel Arteta era so far, Arsenal welcome European champions Real Madrid to the Emirates for a blockbuster Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners dismantled PSV Eindhoven in the last 16 to make the last eight for the second year running, following up a 7-1 away annihilation with a 2-2 stalemate on their own turf.

However, Arteta's troops were effectively eliminated from the Premier League title race in a 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday, meaning that their hopes of ending the season with some silverware realistically rest on the Champions League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the first leg with Real Madrid, who suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Valencia in La Liga over the weekend.

Arsenal's second Brazilian named Gabriel to miss the rest of the season, Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a serious hamstring problem against Fulham last week and is working to be fit for pre-season ahead of an operation.

Possible return date: Unknown

Kai Havertz tore his hamstring during Arsenal's mid-season trip to Dubai, leaving the Gunners without a recognised centre-forward as he bids to recover in time for pre-season.

Riccardo Calafiori

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Ipswich Town)

Riccardo Calafiori ought to be the next cab off the rank in terms of Arsenal's injury victims, but he is still expected to miss both legs of the tie with Real Madrid due to the knee problem he sustained with Italy.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Raheem Sterling

Return date: April 12 (vs. Brentford)

Raheem Sterling was cautioned for the third time in the Champions League season during the second-leg draw with PSV in the last 16, meaning that he will serve a one-game suspension on Tuesday night.

In addition, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Gabriel Martinelli will all miss the trip to the Bernabeu if they are booked in the first leg.
