Dani Alves slams "impatient" Brazil fans

Dani Alves says that Brazilian supporters are too critical of the national team, as they prepare to face Peru in World Cup qualifying.

Brazil right-back Dani Alves has claimed that supporters of the national team are "very critical and impatient".

The Selecao have endured a difficult spell after their humiliation at last year's World Cup, while they have only won one of their three qualifiers for the 2018 tournament to be held in Russia.

"These days people speak as if it were easy to play football. Even people who used to play, they know how hard it is to make a pass or score a goal," Alves told reporters.

"And now they tell it like it's easy. They screwed up in the same ways as people do now. I believe it is down to energy, that here in Brazil there is a very dense atmosphere.

"Here when they see training will only be open 15 minutes some get annoyed, others understand. Our country is very critical and impatient. It is different, I bet that when you guys go to cover the Champions League you are used to it."

Brazil will take on Peru in their next qualifier at the Arena Fonte Nova on Wednesday.
