David Moyes bemoans "hard season"

David Moyes says that Everton's lack of fire-power up front leaves them facing a "hard season" ahead.

David Moyes has said that Everton's lack of fire-power up front has left them facing a "hard season" ahead.

The Toffees have won their last two games, but their lack of goal power is highlighted by the fact that top scorer Apostolos Vellios tops the charts with three.

"I always thought this would be a hard season," Moyes said.

"We have the core of a good team, with young up-and-coming midfielders, but we haven't got someone who is going to score 15-20 goals a season.

"We need to get to 40 points like every other team and then see where we can go from there."

Everton are currently ninth in the Premier League with 16 points from 12 games.
