Felix Magath still confident of Premier League survival

Fulham manager Felix Magath says that he is "confident" that his side will avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

Felix Magath has said that he is still "confident" that Fulham will avoid relegation from the Premier League, despite losing to Tottenham Hotspur earlier today.

The 3-1 defeat leaves the Cottagers 18th in the table, two points from safety.

"If we had got a point here it would have been an extra point to us. We have to win our home games. We will stay up. I think we have to win our home games and if we win six points it could be enough," BBC Sport quotes the manager as saying.

"I'm confident, I'm sure we will stay up, because there were reasons why we weren't as good as Tottenham, but next week we will make it better.

"We unfortunately have three players injured or ill so we had to change the team and that made us a little bit uncertain. We were not quite good enough so I think Tottenham were the better team."

Fulham still have games against Hull City, Stoke City and Crystal Palace to come before the end of the season.
