UEFA president Michel Platini has revealed that a meeting of European football associations, which was to take place in Berlin this weekend, has been postponed in the wake of the FIFA corruption scandal.
Sepp Blatter announced on Tuesday that he is to resign as FIFA president after 17 years in the role, just four days after he was re-elected for a fifth term as the head of world football's governing body.
The UEFA meeting was intended to fit around Saturday's Champions League final in the German capital, but Platini believes that it should be pushed back as the investigations into FIFA continue.
"It is with great concern that I, like most football fans around the world, have been following the daily developments regarding the investigations pertaining to FIFA corruption matters," he said in a statement on the UEFA website.
"Considering new information is revealed every day, I believe it is wiser to take time to assess the situation, so together we can take a position on this issue.
"There will be other opportunities for us to meet in the coming weeks and by then hopefully more light will have been shed on this matter."
Platini believes that Blatter made the correct decision to step down.
