Gordon Strachan eyes home improvement

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan concedes that his team must improve their home form if they are to qualify for a major tournament.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has admitted that the team must improve their home form if they are to qualify for a major tournament in the future.

The last time that the Scots made it through a qualification campaign was 15 years ago when they reached the 1998 World Cup.

Strachan believes that his side need to start winning games at Hampden Park if they want to make an impact on the international stage.

"Our away form is better than our home form and what we have to do is improve that home form if we want to qualify for a tournament," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"Our task is just to try to go out and win games, to find a system that will suit our players at this moment in time."

Scotland play their final 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday when they host Croatia in Group A.
