Unai Emery pleased with Sevilla defence

Sevilla boss Unai Emery praises his side's defensive solidarity following Sunday's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.

Sevilla boss Unai Emery has praised his defence following Sunday's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.

The victory at the Estadio Ramon moved the home side to within five points of sixth-place Sociedad with 12 league matches remaining.

"We set out our game, without looking at the league table. We were looking to win, at how to win and we've done just that," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We've had a good game and on the right path that we'd set ourselves, with patience and competing for the whole ninety minutes.

"The benchmark was to keep a clean sheet and after we scored, they hardly had any chances."

Sevilla have won 10, drawn eight and lost eight of their 26 league games this season.
