Erik Lamela: 'We have to show our quality'

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela feels that his side have to show their quality against Brighton & Hove Albion to prove they can win the Capital One Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela believes that his side need to prove that they are capable of winning the Capital One Cup by brushing aside Brighton & Hove Albion.

The sides meet in the fourth round of the competition at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, and the Argentine feels that the match could be a stern test of Mauricio Pochettino's men's desire to win the cup.

Lamela told the club's official website: "I am sure the match is going to be difficult on Wednesday night. I am aware that Brighton have some very talented players and they will want to beat us.

"But this is one individual game that we need to win if we are going to continue in the cup.

"It's all about what we can do on the night and I believe we are good enough to do well in this competition."

Tottenham last won the League Cup in 2008.
