Captain Conor Coady admits that Wolverhampton Wanderers' 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday was a 'massive day' for the club.

Captain Conor Coady has heaped praise on everyone associated with Wolverhampton Wanderers after their surprise 2-0 victory at Manchester City.

Two late Adama Traore goals earned Wolves a hard-fought triumph over the Premier League champions, despite the game taking place less than 72 hours after their Europa League win over Besiktas in Turkey.

After an inconsistent start, Nuno Espirito Santo's side are now unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, and Coady has talked up their recent run given their previous criticism.

The centre-back told the Express & Star: "I think everyone needs to take credit, the whole team, the whole squad and the whole club. A lot of people have said we started poorly but this week has been amazing.

"We are always confident. We know how tough the Premier League and people forget we have had a lot of games. It really has been tough. We always had confidence in ourselves. Listening to the manager and ourselves we have come through it in the end and we deserved it today.

"This is a day for Wolverhampton Wanderers. It is a massive day for the whole club."

Wolves now sit in 11th position in the top-flight standings.
