Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will serve a three-match touchline ban after admitting a misconduct charge from the Football Association.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been handed a three-match touchline ban after admitting a charge of misconduct handed to him by the Football Association.

Wenger was unhappy with Mike Dean's decision to give West Bromwich Albion a penalty during the closing stages of the Premier League fixture between the two sides on New Year's Eve, leading to an exchange with the official.

Reports had suggested that Wenger's comments, both in the media and behind the scenes, could lead to a stadium ban, but the FA has revealed that the Frenchman will only be unable to sit in the dugout.

The matches included in the suspension are Arsenal's trips to both Nottingham Forest and Chelsea in the FA Cup and EFL Cup respectively, as well as the Premier League game away at Bournemouth.

Wenger - who was also critical of the referee's performance in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night - will additionally pay a fine of £40,000.
