Jamie Carragher: 'Everton can't complain about disallowed goal'

Jamie Carragher says that Everton cannot complain about having Sylvain Distin's goal disallowed on Sunday after Luis Suarez was denied a goal in their meeting earlier in the season.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has insisted that Everton do not have the right to complain about having a goal disallowed during the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The two sides endured a goalless draw at Anfield in a game that saw Sylvain Distin's header chalked off for alleged shoving in the penalty area.

However, Carragher believes that the referee's decision served justice after Luis Suarez wrongly had a goal retracted for offside during their clash at Goodison Park earlier in the year.

"They're bound to say that, aren't they?" Carragher told talkSPORT. "I think we very unfortunate at Goodison Park not to get the winner in the last minute with Suarez.

"There was nothing wrong with that, so maybe it's swings and roundabouts.

"It was typical derby game. Not a lot of great football and not a lot of chances. It was very cagey, very tight and you have to give credit to Everton."

The match was Carragher's final Merseyside derby ahead of his retirement from the game at the end of the campaign.
