Joe Hart refusing to be complacent with England place

Joe Hart insists that he will never take his place in the England side for granted.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that he refuses to take his place in the England side for granted.

Despite being Roy Hodgson's first-choice shot-stopper since he arrived as England boss and returning to top form with his club this season, Hart claims that he will not allow himself to become complacent.

"I have known I have got to be on my toes from day one - from when I was trying to get into the Shrewsbury Town first team as a kid, and it's the same when I am trying to remain as England number one," he told The Mirror.

"There are a lot of good English keepers out there.

"Jack Butland is getting his chance at Stoke, Ben Foster and Fraser Forster have been unbelievable all season, then unfortunate through injury, and as bad a season that QPR have had, Rob Green has been their one shining light."

Hart is likely to add to his 50 caps when England meet the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia this month.
