Walsall snap up Manchester City starlet

Walsall sign 18-year-old Manchester City striker Jordi Hiwula on a one-month loan.

Walsall have announced that they have signed Manchester City starlet Jordy Hiwula on a one-month loan.

The 18-year-old, who enjoyed a spell at Yeovil Town earlier in the season, joins the Saddlers until March, and manager Dean Smith says that he has an "exciting" talent on his hands.

"Jordy is a player that I have been tracking for a while," he told the club's official website. "I saw him last season for City's Under-21s and he did really well, so he is someone I marked down as one to watch.

"He's since been on loan at Yeovil and all the scouting reports we have on their matches highlight him as a player with real potential.

"His preferred position is as a 'number nine', and with his pace and trickery, we have an exciting, young talent on our hands."

His City contract expires in 2016.
