Josh Onomah inspired by Tottenham Hotspur academy graduates

Josh Onomah admits that he takes inspiration from those who have graduated from the academy to become key players for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Joshua Onomah has revealed that he has taken inspiration from the academy graduates who have made an impact for the first team.

The speculation surrounding the 18-year-old's future ended on Tuesday when Spurs confirmed that he had signed a new four-year contract, and Onomah is desperate to make the breakthrough at White Hart Lane after watching the likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb become key players under Mauricio Pochettino.

"I've been going to White Hart Lane since I was nine, watching the games, feeling the passion of the fans, it just makes you want to pull the shirt on and be out there," the midfielder told the club's website.

"Harry, Nabil, Ryan and Andros [Townsend] are inspirational for us. They have all come through the Academy and they have all given us belief, they have shown that it is possible. It's great to be around them, to ask their advice and learn from them day to day.

"I'd love to follow in their footsteps. I just want to play for Tottenham for many years to come."

Onomoah made his first-team debut in an FA Cup tie against Burnley in January.
