Lee Clark embarrassed by Blackpool thrashing

Blackpool boss Lee Clark describes his side's 7-2 thrashing by Watford, in which they were two goals up at half time, as "embarrassing".

Blackpool boss Lee Clark has expressed his embarrassment after seeing his side thrashed 7-2 by Watford.

The Seasiders moved into a 2-0 half-time lead at Vicarage Road on Saturday, but a spectacular second-half collapse allowed the hosts to claim the points in remarkable fashion.

Blackpool remain at the bottom of the Championship table, nine points adrift of safety.

"At 3.50pm it was looking fantastic. At 4.50pm it was embarrassing," Clark is quoted as saying by ITV Sport. "We're deeply embarrassed by that second half. To concede seven goals in any game, never mind a half, is very disappointing and frustrating.

"You just can't play like we did in the second half, at any level. We'll take all the flack that is going to come our way in the next few days, and rightly so."

Clark's team are back in action on January 31 when they host Brighton & Hove Albion.
