Estoril Praia sneak past nine-man Braga

Estoril Praia upset nine-man Braga 1-0 in the Primeira Liga this evening, thanks to a goal from Leo Bonatini.

Estoril Praia beat Braga 1-0 as the visitors ended the match with nine men at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota this evening.

Pedro Santos came close for Braga before Alan saw a long-range effort swerve wide of the goal. Crislan then had a shot palmed away for a corner as both teams went in at half time goalless.

Braga midfielder Mauro Silva was sent off after receiving two yellow cards within four minutes of each other straight after the break, before Brazilian Leo Bonatini broke the deadlock 20 minutes from time.

The visitors found themselves down to nine men after Willy Boly was shown a straight red, and from then on Braga were unable to produce any kind of momentum that they needed to equalise, the match ending 1-0.

The result sees both teams sit in the league with six points, Estoril in fifth place and Braga in sixth.
