Go Ahead Eagles have given their hopes of staying in the Eredivisie a huge boost with a shock 1-0 win away to Feyenoord.

The result has condemned fellow strugglers Dordrecht to life in the Eerste Divisie next season.

Both sides exchanged chances early on, but Karim El Ahmadi failed to find the net for the hosts before Kenneth Vermeer kept out Lesley de Sa's drive.

Feyenoord started to dominate as the first half wore on, with Colin Kazim-Richards firing off target and Jordy Clasie also blasting over. However, they were unable to make their dominance count.

Go Ahead Eagles took a surprise lead with 20 minutes left to play as substitute Jules Reimerink capped a slick passing move with a cool finish from a difficult angle.

Feyenoord push hard for an equaliser late on, but they were unable to breach the Eagles' dogged defence.
