Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal denies misconduct charge

The FA confirms that Man United manager Louis van Gaal has denied his misconduct charge.

The Football Association has confirmed that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has denied his misconduct charge.

Van Gaal was charged for his post-match comments following United's goalless draw with Cambridge United in the FA Cup last month.

The FA claims that the Dutchman's comments "allege and/or imply bias on the part of the match referee and/or bring the game into disrepute".

Van Gaal has requested a personal hearing, the date of which has not yet been confirmed.

He was granted a 24-hour extension to respond to the governing body before replying to them on Tuesday night.
