Report: Southampton table £10m bid for QPR's Charlie Austin

Southampton reportedly lodge a £10m bid for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, who is at the centre of a four-way battle for his signature.

Southampton have reportedly shown their hand in the race for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin by launching a £10m bid.

The 25-year-old, who recently received his first senior England call-up, is believed to also be wanted by Newcastle United, West Ham United and Chelsea.

According to The Express, the Saints put forward their offer to the recently-relegated Championship club on Sunday evening.

Widespread reports have claimed that the West London outfit are holding out for £15m for Austin, who scored 18 goals last year and has 12 months remaining on his contract.

The forward is expected to consider his options in the coming weeks.
