Lionel Messi's condition has not got worse after being brought on against Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona have confirmed that striker Lionel Messi has not suffered an injury relapse after his appearance from the bench in Wednesday night's Champions League away-goals win over Paris Saint-Germain.

There were fears that Messi's recovery would suffer with an early comeback but Barca have said that there was no change in his condition.

"Examinations carried out have confirmed that the injury has neither worsened nor changed," a club statement said.

"The player will continue with the recovery programme [originally] laid down and his progress will dictate his possible availability for forthcoming games."

Barca are in the draw for the semi-finals which takes place on Friday.
