Liverpool stalwart Jamie Carragher is happy with his overall record in Merseyside derbies against Everton despite only managing a draw in his final one yesterday.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has declared himself happy with his overall record for the club in Merseyside derbies against Everton.

Carragher, who has announced his intention to retire at the end of the current season, played his 30th and final derby yesterday as Liverpool and Everton drew 0-0 at Anfield.

During that time, boyhood Everton fan Carragher has been on the winning side 16 times, drawing nine and losing just five, a record that the 35-year-old is content with.

"There was a lot of talk before the game about the fact that it was my last derby and people were saying 'We want to win for Jamie' and stuff like that," Carragher told the Liverpool Echo.

"But also in the back of my head I knew that Evertonians would have loved to be able to say they beat me in my last derby. I wouldn't say I'm pleased with a draw but we've gone another one undefeated. I'm pleased with my record in these games.

"I've always loved playing in derbies. I've always said for me it's the biggest game and I will miss them. I will be watching them next season and I will probably be even more nervous. When you play you can do something about it, but watching is very nerve racking."

Carragher, who will become a pundit for Sky Sports next season, has made 735 appearances for Liverpool during his 17 years with the club.
