New England Revolution, Columbus Crew finishes goalless

New England Revolution and Columbus Crew play out a goalless draw in their MLS match at the Gillette Stadium.

New England Revolution and Columbus Crew have played out a goalless draw in their MLS match at the Gillette Stadium.

Despite the deadlock not being broken, both sides had their fair share of chances to take the lead in both halves.

The first couple of chances fell to the visitors, as Ethan Finlay's shot on goal was blocked by Andrew Farrell, keeping the home side on alert.

The Revolution had the best chance of the first half to take the lead but Juan Agudelo was unable to get a touch on an inviting ball that was hit across the six-yard box.

The second half offered much of the same that the first did, with a couple of chances but nothing clear-cut.

The result leaves the Revolution second in the Eastern conference and sixth in the league table, while the point moves the Crew into 13th, level on points with five other teams.
