New England Revolution 1-1 New York Red Bulls

New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls draw 1-1 in a MLS game that saw both goals scored in injury time.

New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls played out a 1-1 draw at the Gillette Stadium in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

The first chance of the game fell to the hosts as early as the fifth minute when Jerry Bengtson marched into the visitors' box and shot just under the crossbar only to have it ruled out for an offside offence by Diego Fagundez.

Bengtson came close to scoring again in the 42nd minute when he forced opposition goalkeeper Bill Gaudette to deflect his fiercely-taken shot onto the crossbar.

The hosts continued to pile pressure on the Red Bulls goal in the second half, but Gaudette was up to the task of keeping them at bay.

Much against the run of play, the visiting side went ahead in the first minute of injury time through Joel Lindpere.

However, Red Bulls replied four minutes later when Darius Barnes headed home Ryan Guy's cross to salvage a point.
