Swansea keeper Michel Vorm admits that the exit of Brendan Rodgers was the "worst thing that could happen" to the club but feels he was Liverpool's best option to replace Kenny Dalglish.

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has said that Brendan Rodgers was Liverpool's best option to replace Kenny Dalglish as manager.

Rodgers was yesterday announced as the Anfield club's new manager after originally snubbing talks on Merseyside.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Vorm said: "I think it's the best move Liverpool can make.

"I've worked with him for a year and he's the best manager I've worked with - and I think he is the best manager maybe in the Premier League.

"He is quite young but very experienced and I think for Liverpool it's the best they could get. For him it's beautiful."

Vorm added that is was the "worst thing that could happen" to Swansea and the club need to stick "together" next season.

Swansea finished 11th in an impressive season in the Premier League last term.
