Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly plotting a summer swoop for Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes that could spell the end of Joe Hart's career at Manchester City.
The Citizens boss is said to be looking for a new first-choice keeper following Hart's drastic dip in form, which Pellegrini apparently puts down to a lack of competition for places during the previous regime.
Hart has been dropped from the City team for their last two matches and replaced by Costel Pantilimon, but Pellegrini does not see the Romanian as his long-term number one.
The Sunday People claims that the former Malaga manager will return to La Liga for a solution and has already started pursuing Valdes, who is quitting Camp Nou at the end of the season.
According to the same source, if City fail in their move for the Spaniard, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Monaco, they will attempt to sign Queens Park Rangers' out-of-favour Brazilian Julio Cesar.
