Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote warns the club that they are not safe from Premier League relegation yet.

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has insisted that he and his teammates must not become complacent.

The Magpies are six points above the relegation zone in the table, but the Ivory Coast international has warned that the gap could easily shorten.

"I think we have more work to do," Tiote told the Chronicle. "You never know what can happen. The Premier League is so, so different to any other league in the world.

"Any team can win four or five games and get out of it. So that's what we will aim to do and then we will be safe."

The North-East outfit, who are still competing in the Europa League, have eight games remaining in their domestic campaign.
