Les Ferdinand: 'QPR youngsters have a chance of breaking through'

Queens Park Rangers head of football operations Les Ferdinand insists that youngsters will get their chance at Loftus Road.

Queens Park Rangers head of football operations Les Ferdinand is confident that the club's youngsters will have a chance of proving their ability in the first team.

The Premier League outfit have struggled to pave a way for their young talents over the years, and the likes of Max Ehmer, Michael Harriman and Joe Lumley have all been sent out on loan stints.

"There is a pathway to the first team, and going out on loan is part of that pathway – going out and learning to play men's football," Ferdinand told the club's official website.

"Hopefully the player then comes back and has developed enough so that I can be knocking on the manager's door and saying, 'Look, you've got to give this kid a chance."

In the top flight, QPR are currently 19th in the table.
