Michael Zorc signs new Borussia Dortmund deal

Michael Zorc pens a new contract with Borussia Dortmund, which will keep the sporting director at the club until 2019.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2019.

Zorc, who took over the role of sporting director when he retired from playing, said that he intends to restore Dortmund to the top of German football.

"I sense that we haven't reached the end of our development yet," he told the club's official website.

"I see it as our joint responsibility to build on the success of recent years and establish Borussia Dortmund at the summit of German football and as a permanent fixture in the UEFA Champions League in the long term."

Zorc is the club's record appearance holder.
