Roberto Di Matteo wants to make history in the Champions League final.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo wants to make history and accomplish something "extraordinary" for the side.

The Blues face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final on Saturday and are looking to win the competition for the first time in their history.

However, Di Matteo has admitted that he doesn't think a victory would affect his chances of being permanent manager of Chelsea, and is unsure of what the future holds.

"I have a big drive and a big motivation to do something extraordinary for this club. That's all I want to do," he said.

"Whatever comes afterwards, there's always a reason why things happen."

Di Matteo also insists that the showdown in Germany is one of the biggest games in the club's history.

He added: "This game can decide the history of our football club. It would be the first time we would win the European Champions League.

"It's a massive game, a big game for the club, a big game for our players. I'm not suggesting it's just another game.

"We have to go into it with the knowledge we have the quality and experience to win it."

The game kicks off at 6pm (GMT) at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
